Port Milwaukee handles a wide variety of breakbulk and non-containerized cargo, such as: steel (including coils, plate, and long products), wind turbine components (including towers, nacelles, blades, generators), brewery tanks, mining equipment, yachts, forest products, transformers, farm and construction machinery, manufacturing equipment, bagged materials, and other project cargoes.
The Port provides over 330,000 square feet of covered warehouse space for bulk, steel and general cargoes, including 30,000 square feet (2,800 square meters) of climate-controlled space. All Port facilities are steel frame buildings with brick and aluminum exteriors. Port Milwaukee's general cargo piers are paved with concrete and asphalt with connections to both Union Pacific (UP) and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) railways. Port Milwaukee's total general cargo capacity exceeds 20 acres (8.1 hectares); the Port can offer additional backup storage as requested. Logistec Corporation is the Port 's general cargo stevedore.
